The route at a glance

Procida - Capri is the final leg of Alicost's summer route: it starts in Salerno in the morning, calls at Amalfi, Positano and Capri, reaches Ischia and Procida around midday, and returns the same way in the afternoon. From Procida that means one departure a day, in the afternoon, calling at Ischia Porto and taking around two hours to Capri. It doesn't work as the outbound leg of a day trip, but it does work as onward travel to the island or as the return after a day on Procida.

The season is the shortest of all the Capri routes: weekends from April, daily from June to late September. After that, the route from Procida to Capri goes via Naples, with a walk between the piers.

Departure on Procida

The boat leaves from Marina Grande, Procida's only harbour, where every route arrives and departs. The walk from the pier to the buses and into town is short. Tickets are available online from Alicost, at Alicost's desks on the route, and via this site's booking link.

Check-in and boarding

Alicost's conditions of carriage require you to be at the quay 30 minutes before departure; the operator sells online up to 30 minutes before departure. With one departure a day, the deadline is meant seriously. Show your ticket in paper or electronic form.

On board

The speedboat is an air-conditioned seated cabin, with a bar on most of the boats. Hand luggage is limited to one piece up to 9 kilograms; anything more needs a luggage ticket, cheaper at the desk than on board.

Vehicles, bikes and pets

The boat carries only foot passengers; bikes travel on their own ticket, subject to the crew's approval. One small or medium pet per passenger travels for a pet fare, dogs on a lead and muzzled or in a carrier. The Campania Region bans non-residents from bringing cars, motorbikes and mopeds to Capri, in 2026 from 30 March to 2 November and again over the New Year, with a few exceptions set out in the regulation.

Arrival on Capri

The boat docks at Capri's Marina Grande, the island's only ferry harbour; the funicular runs to Capri Town, buses to Anacapri. Arrival is in the late afternoon, and the return sailing to Procida leaves Capri in the morning. The timetable shows both directions.

Tickets and fares

The price is fixed at checkout; Capri also charges a landing fee, and children and groups pay less. An overview is on the prices page, and the route from the larger neighbouring island is on the Ischia - Capri route page.
